Manali is a hillside town situated in Himachal Pradesh-India. If you are flying from another country, you should land at Delhi and then go to Manali. Manali is situated about 543km away from India. To reach the destination you can either take a bus or hire a cab. We hired a cab for the entire trip and it costed only around INR 52,000 for 4 people (including accommodation in Delhi). We left Delhi around 7am. However we found this time too late as we got stuck in the usual Delhi traffic. Hence it is recommended to leave as early as possible. It was around 10pm in the night when we reached Manali. However as there was a strike and the roads were blocked we were stuck in the traffic for 5hrs and reached our destination, Shobla Pine Royale at around 2.30 in the morning.
A special thank you should go to Mr.Bhaveek Thakur and Mr. HemRaj of Shobla Pine Royale for all the help they gave us while we were stuck in traffic. If you are visiting Manali you should definitely stay at Shobla Pine Royale.
Solang Valley is one of the places you can visit in Manali, if you like adventure sports. That place has activities such as paragliding, river crossing, horse rides and Yak rides. However since we visited during summer it was really crowded. And I think we missed the main Solang Valley where they have Zorbing and all the other fun activities.
Anjani Mahadev is a Hindu Temple situated in the centre of Solang Valley. It is said that during winter, snow forms a “Shiva Lingam” on this place. It believed that Lord Hanuman’s mother “Anjani Devi” meditated in this place.
Some other places we visited around Manali and Kullu
- Rohtang Pass
- Old Manali
- Hidimba Devi Temple and Ghatotkach Temple
- Bijli Mahadev
- Naggar Castle
- Shobla Pine Royale
